Tutorial: Urban Decay Cosmetics Naked 3 Everyday Makeup

Just wanted to post this real quick for all of you.  I knew the new UD Naked 3 Eye Shadow Palette would be popular but I didn't know it would this BIG! I really like this palette because it's still has your neutral tones but with a little more color like the pink hues.  For those of you wanting to get some inspiration for an everyday look (I know some of you might not think this is an everyday look, but you have the choice to make it less dramatic) with the palette watch my tutorial below! MOTD: City Color Cosmetics Brown and Greens

Just a quick post for today! Wanted to post this before I forgot. I've been working hard the past 2 weeks trying to get on a regular schedule with posting on the blog and creating/posting MOTD's on Instagram.

Today's look is a classic look with a twist. 
First I used City Color Cosmetics Shadow Primer all over the eye up to the brow.  I like to use my index finger to apply the primer because the warmth of my finger really helps blend the primer.
All the shadows are from City Color Cosmetics Green/Brown Multi-Shade Eye Shadow Palette. For the pop of color on the lower lash line and mixed the greens in the palette to smudge a soft drop shadow liner. Love these Alter Ego Lashes in Pin Up Girl - perfect lashes for this look don't you think? On my brows I have Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel Espresso and Brow Genius Kit in BrunetteThe blush is the 3rd color in the Intense Blush Quad.  To complete the look is the matte lipstick in Red.

MOTD: City Color Cosmetics Blue/Purple

Today's MOTD are some of the colors that I have been reviewing this week from City Color Cosmetics.  You can create a beautiful look with an affordable brand!

 To create this look I used the City Color Blue and Purple Multi Shade Eye Shadow Palette with the City Color Eye Shadow Primer to make the colors really vibrant.  A great tip that I like to share when using brighter colors is to pack the color on the lid with a flat brush instead of sweeping it back and forth.  When you do this you layer on more color to build upon each other. On my cheeks is the City Color Cosmetics  Intense Blush Quad Collection 1.  Lips are City Color Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Mauve.  Can't forget my lashes!!! P.S. I used a different setting on my camera  for this look then the rest of my pictures.  Don't know how I feel about the saturation of the colors.  Will need to experiment more.

Review: City Color Cosmetics Matte Lipstick and Dual Lip Wand

Incredible matte lipsticks for $1.99??? Um, YES PLEASE!  I am always on the lookout for matte lipsticks.  It's always hard to find some out there that are not the department store prices.  There are 18 beautiful shades to choose from - the two that I have are Red and Mauve.  The lipsticks do have a fragrance, reminds me of cherry chapstick :) You can tell by the swatches that the color intensity is full impact opaque coverage. Mauve is not as bright as it looks in the swatch but look at the red such a glam color.

Dual Lip Wand

Another product that I wanted to share with all of you is the Dual Lip Wand in Magenta. My makeup bag is filled with lipsticks and lip glosses but now I have a 2-in-1 product a lipstick with the matching lip gloss.  No more loose lipsticks and lip glosses! The lipstick portion is a smooth light gloss finish very similar to a lustre finish from MAC.  It is not as opaque as the Matte Pipsticks but gives good long lasting coverage.  This lipstick, just like the Matte Lipsticks has a Cherry Chapstick fragrance.  The gloss portion is very sheer  and complements the lipstick very well.  You will find 12 different shades to wear with different looks.

Review: City Color Multi-Shade Eye Shadow Palette

I was given the opportunity to review some products from City Color Cosmetics.  It is an affordable brand with many products to choose from.  What's great about this brand is that the quality is great! I always like to be on the lookout for quality products that are affordable for everyone.  Please don't always think that expensive makeup will always get you better results.  In my opinion you can achieve great looks even on a budget - it is the way you apply it that makes a difference.

The first review is the City Color Multi-Shade Eye Shadow Palettes.  I received 3 of them

The eye shadows are placed in an acrylic palette, it is very sturdy.  Is also comes with a applicator but I usually toss these and use makeup brushes for more detailed application.  The variety of colors in each of the palettes really give you a lot of creativity to explore different looks from natural to dramatic. My favorite palette is the Blues and Purples, just because I love wearing purple eye shadows.  The two purple shades in the palette are gorgeous and are very different from each other. One is more warm and the other is more cool.  Great variety!

When I was swatching the colors I found that using a primer is a must have to capture the intensity of the shadow. I used the City Color Shadow Primer in Nude.  The primer was easy to apply - very creamy and non drying.   I find that some eye primers out there are so drying on the eye lids but this one was nothing like the others.
